This has been a project that we worked on as time allowed since it wasn’t for a specific customer. But we are now basically finished- with the bike running fantastic and looking almost like it did when they took it out of the crate. We stripped it to the frame and got everything surgically clean before taking the engine apart to put in all new gaskets and seals. 40 year old crank seals are notorious for failing and will cause a seizure pretty quickly. With only 4000 miles on the bike, the inside of the engine looked like new and only needed seals and a new clutch basket due to deteriorated rubber isolators. Here are a few pictures from the process.
