This is a really low mileage RZ with only 12,000 miles and obviously ridden gently. We were happy to see that the inside was coated with oil and there was no corrosion on any of the parts. The transmission looks perfect, too. We installed new seals, gaskets and 1st over OEM Yamaha pistons and rings. We could have gotten away with just re-ringing the engine, but the piston-bore clearance was right on the edge so we bored it. Cleaning the old case sealer and gaskets off is always a time consuming job since everything needs to be surgically clean for reassembly. Reassembly went smoothly and it is back in the frame!
