So, my friend Ron Raven, who donated the Hejira we did last year to Barber, texts me a picture of him sitting next to the bike on display in the Museum! Because Barber has 1000’s of bikes, they rotate them in and out of the displays and we thought maybe sometime in the next year or 2 we would see it. But it’s already on display! Hejira’s are rare custom built race bikes and this one is from the late 80’s with a Yamaha 350cc 2-stroke. I did the paint, bodywork, cosmetics and Ron did all the mechanical work. The original hand made aluminum tank was decent but had a lot of dings and scratches so I decide it was best to leave a nice section on the top polished and paint the rest in a custom British Racing Green. For bike guys like us, it is like an author getting published. Congrats Ron!
