One of my customers brought me a CT70 – commonly known by kids of all ages as a Trail 70. Who didn’t want one of these as a kid?! Well, they are now very collectible and also pretty cheap to restore. This one was beat up like most 50 yr old bikes are but the frame was straightened out and stripped and then filler added to take out the dings and dents. Next was another coat of epoxy primer, silver base coat and then 5 coats of the candy blue. Each coat adds depth and darkens the color so you can literally pick your color as you paint. The florescent lights make it look lighter and teal-ish but in person, it is a darker shade of blue like the original. Graphics go on next and then 3 coats of clear.
