Well, we are closing in on the final details. The wiring is done and tested and the seat is on after much fitting and trimming. This is a very nice reproduction seat but it simply wouldn’t fit over the post behind the gas tank. Since I have another El Tigre sitting in the shop, I measured the post on it vs the post on this bike and it is about .3 in lower and the seat pan also had a slightly different profile. Apparently production tolerances weren’t that great in 1969 and remember, these are really modified Metralla frames. After cutting the .3 in off the post, I finally got the seat to slide on.
