I picked up this somewhat ragged 2007 V-Rod Street Rod at the auction for a decent price but it obviously needed some TLC. With 15K miles on it, someone used it as a commuter or daily rider. Mechanically, it is in fine shape except needing a new rear tire. But cosmetically it was a different story- the tank (airbox cover) had a dent from the bike falling over and all of the aluminum needs to be polished. But, nothing that a little time and effort can’t fix. So, we start by stripping off the bodywork, which is really easy on a V-Rod. Since the rear brake pedal was bent, that also needed to come off for repair. The handlebars were slightly tweaked as well so I ordered a new set. All in all, just lots of little stuff. Next, we fix the tank and get ready to paint.
