Ducati’s contests are always cool because they give the regular, average owner a chance to show what they have done at a variety of venues. The first “Showdown” this year is at Daytona, so if you are taking you Duc down for bike week, consider leaving it at the Island and you might come back to find a tag saying it was chosen for the Showdown. The Monster Challenge a few years ago was great and brought out a ton of cool machines, so check out the details at Ducati’s website–
Ducati North America is excited to announce a new contest for Ducati owners, The Ducati Island Showdown, which will take place at five major road races in 2009. All Ducati owners are encouraged to fire up their beloved bikes and ride to the nearest round of the competition. The Ducati Island Showdowns will take place at:
Dates | Series / Location |
March 4-6 | AMA / Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL * |
May 1-3 | AMA / Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, AL |
May 29-31 | AMA & WSBK / Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, UT |
July 3-5 | AMA & MotoGP / Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA |
Aug 28-30 | MotoGP / Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, IN |
No pre-entry is necessary and all Ducatis- modern or vintage- are eligible. One of the five lucky bikes will also be awarded The Motorcyclist Magazine award for the best motorcycle of the event.
