Kawasaki has announced their new 09 line-up and there is at least one really good bit of news. The ER-6n, which is basically a naked version of the 2 cylinder in-line 650 Ninja is coming to the US. Since Suzuki now has a fully faired version of the SV650, I guess Kawasaki decided they needed a naked version of the EX650 to compete against both models. The only complaint I have with the styling is the over-done radiator shrouds. The bike might actually look better with them off. Still, this really is good news since the ER is priced considerably lower (6399.00) than the EX and it gives Kawasaki another high mpg model to sell. Add the fact that there are a lot of riders that really want a naked bike for the lower insurance and practicality, and I think it will sell very well. Still, Suzuki’s SV650 will remain more popular, I think, due to its V-twin engine and almost unlimited mod-ability.
Other new models include a revised and ligher ZX6R and ZX10. If you’ve never ridden a ZX10, it is quite an amazing bike and the 09 should be that much better.
