Well, this is one of those stories that reminds you just how big (and small) the world is. The Guam Club is celebrating their 13th year and it is cool to see motorcycle fanatics literally everywhere.
From the Pacific Daily News–
It was ‘hawg’ heaven this weekend for members of the local motorcycle club Guam Hawgs as they celebrated their 13-year anniversary.
The Sunday celebration was a true-to-form islandstyle event as members camped out along the Piti beachside, feasting on barbecue and soaking in the afternoon sun.
The local nonprofit, which raises money yearly to help out children in need of medical treatment, has donated roughly $150,000 to that cause since opening its doors to motorcycle lovers throughout the island in 1993.
Guam Hawgs is more than just a club or a hobby. For those who are among its 75-some rotating membership, it is family.
“There’s no question about it. It’s just the way we are,” said 10-year member Lonnie Clark.
Clark, who sells motorcycles on the Naval Station, moved to the island 12 years ago with his wife and children and instantly fell in love with what he described as “a Midwest town only in paradise.”
